Norma Cahoon Davis completed her 87-year journey on this side of heaven December 31, 2022, in Byhalia, MS, her home since 1968. Born March 25, 1935, to Norman Fredrick Cahoon and Elva Lucinda Crossett in Helena, AR, Norma was a dedicated Christian, wife for 56 years to Bennie Earl Davis Sr. and his daily helpmeet for 49 years, Norma was a member of Faith Baptist Church of Barton, MS. She was mother of Rufus Ellis Pennington (Rosemary) and Curtis Oldham Pennington (Lynne) of Byhalia, MS, Brenda Fay (Pennington) Branstetter (Kenny) and Michael Martin Pennington (Debbie) of Chattanooga, TN, stepmother of Bennie Earl Davis Jr. of Crystal Springs, MS, Michael Eugene Davis of East Prairie, MO, and sister to Fredrick Cahoon (Krista) of Urbana, OH. She had many beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren and was preceded in death by her husband Bennie and stepchildren Thomas Jasper Davis, Paul Edward Davis, and Sherry Lynn (Davis) Haggins.
Norma worked at many roles including a department store clerk, an assembly line worker at Hunter Fan, a farmer, a gun shop clerk, a Shar Pei dog breeder, a pianist, and a seamstress to name a few. She was a Daughter of The Eastern Star. Brantley Funeral Home of Olive Branch, MS will conduct services. Memorials may be sent to Faith Baptist Church, PO BOX 878 Byhalia, MS 38611.
The family will receive friends for a time of visitation at Brantley Funeral Home, 6875 Cockrum St., Olive Branch, MS 38654, on Thursday, January 5, 2022 from 1-2 pm with a funeral service to begin at 2:00 pm. Burial will follow at Byhalia Cemetery.
