She is survived by her sister Billie Ann Wildman, her niece Melissa Taylor (Chris), her great niece Kelsey Taylor and her great nephew Drew Taylor. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ross Lewis, her father William Penn Grubbs and her mother Annie Grace Huston Grubbs.
Martha was born on September 12, 1941 in Memphis, TN. She graduated from East High School in Memphis, TN. Following high school Martha attended Millsaps College and Memphis State University. Martha married the love of her life, Ross Lewis on November 5, 1966 and they lived in Memphis ever since. Martha worked in the paint and glass industry, spending most of her time with PPG and Central Woodwork.
Anyone who ever knew Martha would agree that she was one of the most kind, gentle and giving persons they had ever met. Her sweet spirit was infectious, and you truly enjoyed being around her.
Martha, her husband, and friends were huge sports fans. While she enjoyed Ole Miss games, her favorite sporting events included the Memphis Chicks and Memphis Redbirds games, Memphis State and the University of Memphis basketball games and the Memphis Grizzlies. She also enjoyed traveling to Tunica for the free giveaways, the meals, the shows and playing the slot machines.
Services will be held on Wednesday, April 13th at Brantley Funeral Home in Olive Branch, MS. Visitation will be at 1:00 pm followed by the funeral service at 2:00 pm. A graveside service will be held at Hinds Chapel Cemetery in Walls, MS.
