Mable "Betty" Hughey Johnson

Mable (Betty) Hughey Johnson, 84, died peacefully at her home and went to be with the Lord on December 29, 2016. Betty was born September 17, 1932 in Olive Branch, MS. Betty loved her family and devoted her life to them as they all worked side by side on the family dairy farm. A strong willed woman with a heart of gold, Betty enjoyed spending time in the outdoors with her children and grandchildren. Betty attended Olive Branch High School and was a member of New Prospect Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, Clifton and Elizabeth Hughey, her husband, AW Johnson Jr., her daughter, Annice Umberger, and her son, Robert W. Johnson. She leaves behind one son, Eddie Johnson (Linda), a brother, Sonny Hughey. She also leaves behind 5 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren, and many family and friends. The family will receive family and friends, Saturday, December 31, 2016 from 9:00 am to 10:00 am with service to immediately follow at Brantley Funeral Home, 6875 Cockrum Street Olive Branch, MS 38654. Internment will be at Lebanon Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made in Betty's name to New Prospect Baptist Church.
