Lary George Dillavou, 82, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, January 10, 2022 at Silver Creek Assisted Living in Olive Branch, Ms. He was born on June 25, 1939 to the late Wayne Emerson and Ethel Mae Dillavou in Austin, Minnesota. Lary served in the United States Army and loved his country. He retired from Consolidated Freightways after more than thirty years as a long-haul truck driver. Lary had a love for music and dancing with his high school sweetheart, who later became his wife of 60 years, JoAnn Marie Dillavou. He was strong in his faith and was a member of Olive Branch Church of Christ. Lary was a kind soul with an infectious laugh and enjoyed talking to everyone. To know Lary, was to love him. He was a loving, hardworking husband, dad, and grandfather. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by loving wife, JoAnn Marie Dillavou; a sister, Marion Aileen Dillavou Arntzen, and a brother, Elner Dillavou. Lary leaves behind his five children: Rick Dillavou (Darcy), Susan McPherson (Dean), Jodi Meyers (Kenton), Montgomery Dillavou, Elizabeth Taylor (Joel). He also leaves behind 5 grandchildren and two great grandchildren. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 15, 2022 at 2:00 pm with visitation beginning at 1:00 pm at Olive Branch Church of Christ, 9100 E Sandidge Rd. Olive Branch, MS 38654.
