Kenneth Leon Powell, 51, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, September 12, 2022 at his residence in Byhalia, MS. He was born on June 8, 1971 to the late Sylvester Leon and Stella Kate Powell. Kenny was the life of the party and enjoyed spending time with his friends and family. He never met a stranger and loved everyone. His favorite pastimes included: riding side by sides, grilling, traveling, watching NASCAR and camping. Kenny started roofing with his father at the age of 16. He worked for Easley Contractors for 35 years. Kenny owned and operated K L Powell Roofing for 35 years as well. He was a volunteer Firefighter for Victoria Fire Department since the 80s. He was preceded in death by his parents, Sylvester Leon and Stella Kate Powell, and a baby sister. Kenny is survived by five children: Matt Smith, Ashley Powell (Chris Waldrop), Kenneth A. Powell, Kayla Morgan (Chase), Brittney Strom; his life partner of 12 years, Sandy Young and the mother of his children, Angela Strom. He also leaves behind five grandchildren, Aubree Waldrop, Kenneth Carson Powell, Blakeleigh Morgan, Drake and Sophie Morgan. Family will receive friends on Friday, September 16, 2022 from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm at Brantley Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 17, 2022 at 2:00 pm with visitation prior at Brantley Funeral Home, 6875 Cockrum St. Olive Branch, MS 38654.
