Kathleen Wages Turner

Kathleen Wages Turner, 89, died Thursday, December 24, 2010, at Choctaw County Nursing Home in Ackerman. Visitation is Monday, December 27, from 5-8 p.m., and funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, December 28, all at Brantley Funeral Home in Olive Branch. Interment will follow in the Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery near Ingram’s Mill. Mrs. Turner was born on September 6, 1921, in New Albany and lived most of her adult life in Clarksdale where she retired from the Clarksdale Police Department after 25 years. She enjoyed many years with Eastern Star having served in many positions, including Worthy Matron. She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Minnie Mae and Herbert Wages; her husband, Willard C. Turner; and two sisters, Mildred Crockett King and Lauthrea Vaughn. Mrs. Turner is survived by her two sons, Cully Turner (Mary Jane) of Richland and James Turner (Marissa) of Ackerman; and a sister, Ruth Jezewski (Joseph) of Aliquippa, PA. She also leaves behind her five grandchildren, Trace Turner of Richland, Christopher Turner, Hannah Turner, Madison Turner, and Chase Turner, all of Ackerman; and a great grandson, Bryce Turner of Ackerman.
