Joe Stovall, Jr.

Joe Stovall, Jr., 86, passed away Saturday, June 4, 2016 in Southaven, MS. Mr. Stovall was a U.S. Army Veteran and was a retired executive with Sears. He also owned his own carpet and flooring business. Mr. Stovall was an active member of Broadway Baptist Church and previously served as a deacon and Sunday School teacher. He was a very kind, soft-spoken man of integrity and great faith who loved the Lord and his family. Mr. Stovall was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Gerry Stovall, his stepson, Ricky McMullen, his sister, Marion Brown, and his brother, Ben Stovall. He is survived by his wife of 11 years, Martha Stovall, his son, Jeff Stovall (Sue), his daughter, Terry Vinson (John), his step-daughters, Debi Williams and Kim Ray, and his brother, H.N. Stovall. Mr. Stovall also leaves to cherish his memory: six grandchildren, Stephanie, Justin (Kelly), Jordan, Joseph, Jennifer (Nate), and Lauren (Rusty), as well as six great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends at a catered reception on Thursday, June 9, 2016 from 5-7pm and the funeral service will be held Friday, June 10, 2016 at 9am, all at Brantley Funeral Home, 6875 Cockrum St. Olive Branch, MS. 38654. Interment will follow in West Tennessee Veterans Cemetery.
