JAMES L. SALMON, 88, of Byhalia, passed away May 1, 2013. A gathering of family and friends will begin 1 p.m. Sunday, May 5 and funeral services will follow at 2 p.m., all at Brantley Funeral Home in Olive Branch. Interment will be at Fountainhead Cemetery in Ingram's Mill. Mr. Salmon proudly served in the U.S. Army during World War II, and he was a retired dairy farmer. He was a longtime member of Macedonia Baptist Church. Mr. Salmon was preceded in death by his son, Randy Salmon. James is survived by his wife of 68 years, Ruth Salmon; his daughter, Rachel Vaiden (Pat); 2 grandchildren, Dana Rivers (Matt) and Jason Vaiden; and 5 great-granddaughters.
