Carrie, I just learned of Jim’s passing…I am so sorry to hear this.  Jim worked with me when I was doing western USA & international hotel development for Promus Hotels.  He was a great guy to travel with & such a hard worker.  He was also very laid back which especially helpful when we had so many ‘fires’ to put out!

You & your family are in my prayers….I know h will be deeply missed by family, friends & former co-workers!

Carrie and family - we are so sorry for the loss of Jim. We met Carrie and Jim in Cabo and had such a great time. From the pool to the owners happy hour to the fun golf lesson - we hit it off and we stayed in touch!

When I learned Jim’s last name, I mentioned that my Uncle Leonard Frey had lived in Salamanca NY.  I thought maybe we were related.  From that point on, I nicknamed Jim
Uncle Leonard. 

Years later, our friends were in Cabo at the same time as Carrie and Jim - and at the same resort. They all met and had a great time. My friends knew him as Uncle Leonard. 

I spent the last five months working side by side on our hotel project with Jim. It was great to have him here and to get the chance to know him up close. His advice and all the knowledge he shared, I will value in my heart forever.  It is heartbreaking to know that he is no longer with us. He adored his job, but more than that his Carrie, and his kids and grandchildren. Always showing me the newest picture of his granddaughters. His positive outlook and way of not letting things get to him certainly stuck.  I will carry his memory with me for years to come.

We will certainly miss you Jim. We first met in New Orleans when jim and carrie lived next door on Tully’s drive. He was such a dear man. We remember you with fond memories. Our condolences to your family.

Jim,

I met you about 5 months ago, we did not have long conversations or spent more than 15 to 20 minutes at times, we said "good morning" to each other many times and carried on with our day. You were a strong and hard working man, always smiling and with a great positive attitude every day, you were a great guy and everyone saw that in you. 

One time I offered you cake, we were celebrating a coworker's birthday, you said thank you but I'm on a diet!!! I said: at least a strawberry and some blueberries from the cake toppings and your face lit up in happiness. 
I will take that memory with me always. 

We will miss you!

Jim just made every work day a little easier.  He always was so upbeat, he had a pep in his step like no other- he had nicknames for all of us.     Jim made transitioning back into a quiet workspace easier for me when I stepped back into office work life after owning my own public service business interacting with people all day.  It was an adjustment for me and some days I didn’t think I was going to make it, but then JIM came along, he made it better he created humor & fun and he became my friend.  I was his go to girl, we worked closely on many different projects over the years- so many laughs. He always made you feel special, he was always so happy to see you.  Jim just made life better when he was around.   I will miss you Jim Frey! 

Jim was one of the most optimistic, up-beat and fun people that I've ever known.  I had the distinct pleasure of having the opportunity to work with him on and off over the past few years, and he always impressed me with the way he conducted himself, the way he could connect to people and the way in which he was always willing to help out.  I will miss being addressed as "Cowboy", Jim humoring my many stupid questions and his ability to laugh at anything and everything.  I will take many of Jim's lessons with me throughout the rest of my career.  Thank you for everything, Jim.
