James Bryan Ramsey, also known as Chops, died unexpectedly on June 26, 2020 at the early age of 48 in Destin, Florida. Bryan is survived by his daughter, ChloeJune Ramsey; his sister, Nicki Torres; his aunts, Debbie Deluke, Janie Palazolo and Nancy Cavazos; his cousins, Constance Paz, Tony Deluke, Erin Palazolo, Joseph Palazolo, Tiffany Porter, Nathan and Daniel Cavazos; his nieces and nephews; and his other family members and many friends. He is predeceased by his parents, Margaret and Terry “Tut” Ramsey; his grandparents, Scottie Rhodes and Ruel Nathan Ramsey, and Virginia and James Wardell; his nephew, Christian Torres; his uncle, Michael Ramsey; and his cousin, Amber Palazolo. Bryan was born on August 22, 1971 to Tut and Margaret Ramsey in Memphis, Tennessee. He graduated high school from Hernando High School and went onto Northwest Community College, Ole Miss, and the University of Memphis, where he finished school with his master’s degree. He served in the United States Navy, and afterwards, he came home to excel at building a thriving career. On September 23, 2003, he brought his one and only beautiful daughter into the world, who was the most important part of his life. Bryan was a devoted father, hard worker, and die hard Raiders and Ole Miss fan. He enjoyed boating, the ocean, good food and drinks, music, dancing, laughing with friends, and playing dominos. He often traveled and was blessed to visit many places. He was a problem-solver who never let anyone stay mad at each other for long. He was a kind man who would have given just about anyone the shirt off of his very own back. He was a great friend, and was loved by many; he believed in order to have friends, you must be a friend, which he always did a great job doing. He was a spiritual man and he put all of his trust and faithfulness into our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him. A memorial service is scheduled for Friday, July 3, 2020 at 6:00 pm with visitation beginning at 4:00 pm at Brantley Funeral Home, 6875 Cockrum St. Olive Branch, MS 38654.
