Henry E. Reeves

Henry E. Reeves, 84, of Olive Branch, MS, passed away January 11, 2014. There will be a gathering of friends and family on Monday, January 13, from 5-8 p.m., and funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 14, at 10:00 a.m., all at the Brantley Funeral Home in Olive Branch, MS. Interment will be in Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery in McNairy, TN. Mr. Reeves was a proud Veteran of the U.S. Navy, having served during the Korean War, and he retired from Memphis Light, Gas, and Water. He was a longtime member of First Baptist Church in Olive Branch, and most recently was a member of Longview Heights Baptist Church. In his spare time, he enjoyed gardening and woodworking. Henry never met a stranger and cherished every moment to share his love for his family. He was preceded in death by his parents and 5 siblings. Henry is survived by his wife of 59 years, Shelby Nix Reeves; 2 daughters, Cynthia Reeves Newton (Roy) and Hollie Reeves Reed; his son, Guy R. Reeves (Lori); 4 grandchildren, Allison Newton White (Michael), Zachary Reeves, Nicholas Reeves, and Christopher Reed; his great grandson, Logan White; 4 sisters, Ann Miller, Olliebell Reeves, Etta Marie Dunn, and Martha T.
