David Thomas “Big Daddy” Gammel went home to be with the Lord on Monday, October 12, 2020 at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Collierville, TN. David was born to the late Herbert and Ruby Gammel on August 31st, 1957 in Memphis, TN. David’s favorite hobbies included gun collecting, cutting his yard, cooking outside on his grills, and celebrating his love for his country. He loved spending time with his family and friends, especially his Granddaughter Lillie. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters Geraldine and Patsy Gafford, and his brothers William Gafford and Wayne Gammel. David is survived by his wife and loving companion of 42 years Lorie Gammel; 3 children, Wendi Gammel-McCrory (Nick), Daniel Gammel (Amanda), and Kaitlyn Peel (Blake). He is also survived by two sisters, Mary Howington and Ruby Brown (Spencer). He also leaves behind one Grandchild, Lillie Marie Gammel. Memorial Services will be held from 5:00 to 8:00 pm at Brantley Funeral Home, 6875 Cockrum St. Olive Branch, MS 38654. There will be no graveside services, as David will be cremated.
