Charlotte was raised in Memphis, TN with her brother Gary (Becky) and her sister Pat. After graduating from Overton High School in 1966, Charlotte got her Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education from Memphis State University in 1984. She retired from the Shelby County Board of Education after 25 years of service. She loved teaching children and touched many young lives during her time as a teacher. However, her first love was her family.
Charlotte was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Charlotte married Kermit C. Lee of Memphis on June 13, 1968 and they spent the next 55 years having many adventures and making life long friends. Charlotte and Kermit had two sons, David and Keith. She also loved her daughter-in-law’s Bonnie and Sarah as her own. Charlotte had five grandchildren whom she loved dearly: Thomas, Turner, John William, Eva Kathryn, and Spencer. She also had two three nieces, Sam, Angie, and Amanda. Charlotte is preceded in death by her mother and father, her sister Pat Ost, and her grandson Turner Lee.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, January 30, 2024 at 12:00 pm with visitation beginning at 11:00 am at Brantley Funeral Home, 6875 Cockrum St. Olive Branch, MS 38654. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Southwoods, 5485 Hacks Cross Rd. Memphis, TN 38125. Following the service the family invites friends to join them in remembering Charlotte at the Olive Branch Country Club, 7558 Germantown Rd. Olive Branch, MS 38654.
