Brenda Stringer Jenkins

Brenda Stringer Jenkins, 45, of Olive Branch, MS, passed away Saturday, July 2, 2011. The family will receive friends from 4:30-8:30 p.m. on Tuesday, July 5, at Brantley Funeral Home in Olive Branch. A Celebration of Life Service will be held 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 6, at Hope Baptist Church, 6800 Center Hill Road in Olive Branch, and interment will follow in Autumn Woods Memorial Park. Brenda graduated from Bellefonte Area High School in Bellefonte, PA in 1983, and she graduated Valedictorian of the Methodist Hospital School of Nursing in Memphis, TN in 1988. She worked for 23 years in the CV-ICU at Methodist University Hospital in Memphis, receiving the Nursing Star Award in 2011. Brenda’s faith in God and the love of her family and friends inspired her throughout her brave battle with breast cancer over the past 11 years. She was truly an inspiring testimony to all who met her. Mrs. Jenkins was preceded in death by her father, William Joseph Stringer, Jr.; her father-in-law, Billie Jenkins; and her brother-in-law, Frank Rossman. Brenda is survived by her husband of 27 years, Jeffrey Dean Jenkins; four children, Andrew Jenkins (fiancée Natalie Lovett), Rachel Jenkins, Anna Jenkins, and Sarah Jenkins, all of Olive Branch; her mother, Florence Hartle Stringer, and two brothers, Bill (Joyce) Stringer and Jeff Stringer, all of Bellefonte, PA; four sisters, Barb Rossman of Spring Mills, PA, Judy (Jeff) Confer of McClure, PA; Joan (Ken) Fetterolf of Beavertown, PA, and Jill (Steve) Ivicic of Bellefonte, PA; three sisters-in-law, Pamela Jane Jenkins of Olive Branch, Lisa Jenkins of Fargo, ND, and Wanda Jenkins of St. Paul, MN; and in-laws, Margie and Archie Strickland of Olive Branch and Sharon Jenkins of Mound, MN.
