Bobby Gene Nelson, 81, of Byhalia, MS, passed away December 25, 2017 at Baptist Desoto Hospital in Southaven. Mr. Nelson was a graduate of Olive Branch High School and was a U.S. Army Veteran. He attended Byhalia Baptist Church and retired from Memphis Stone and Gravel as a dispatcher. Mr. Nelson was preceded in death by his only child, Donald "Donnie" Glenn Nelson and seven siblings. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Lorraine Nelson, one sister, and two brothers. Visitation will be held Thursday, December 28, 2017 from 10-11am with the funeral service following at 11am, all at Brantley Funeral Home, 6875 Cockrum St. Olive Branch. Interment will follow in Byhalia Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Byhalia Baptist Church, P.O. Box 146 Byhalia, MS 38611.
