B.L. “Red” Collins, 81, passed away on Sunday, September 29, 2024, after a well-fought, brief illness with West Nile Virus. He was born in Miller Grove Texas and was a 1961 graduate of Garland High School in Garland, Tx. B.L. was an Army veteran. He retired from Ford Tractor Operations where he won many sales honors. B.L. retired for the second time from AutoNation GMC in Memphis, TN. He was an active member of Olive Branch Church of Christ where he had many friends. B.L. was known as the neighborhood walker and when there were times he couldn’t walk, he was greatly missed. He was affectionately known as Red and had a strict sense of honor, humor, home, and family. Once you met him, you immediately loved him. Red was kind to everyone including family, friends, and neighbors. He was always willing to offer a helping hand with time and effort. Red hand-made many gifts for his family and friends. His love for children was unsurpassed and he identified with those who had a hard time in life. Red always wanted to make a difference with his grandchildren and great grandchildren, having fun, and striving to be the best example for them by teaching proper ways of life, learning and love. He was preceded in death by his parents, Virgil and Martha Collins, and his brother, Gerry Collins. Red leaves behind his loving wife, Anita Collins; two children, Mark Rynders (Lynn), Lisa O’Donnell (Pat); three grandchildren, Mark Warren (Kelly), Chad Warren (Shelbi), Toni Rynders; eight great grandchildren; nieces, Jessica Collins, Sara Collins-Murphy (Taylor); nephew, Sean Collins, and a host of cousins and friends. Family will receive friends on Friday, October 4, 2024 from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm with the service beginning at 3:00 pm at Olive Branch Church of Christ, 9100 E Sandidge Rd. Olive Branch, Ms 38654. A graveside service will be held at 12:00 pm on Saturday, October 5, 2024 at Forest Hill Midtown in Memphis, TN.
