September 2022…I’m so grateful Sister finally got to meet her great niece, Ella. What a beautiful visit! 💖

My dear, sweet Aunt Sister...she was such a beautiful person. The words that come to mind when I think of her are happy, kind, loving, adventurous, caring and joyful. She always had a smile on her face…the brightest smile you’ve ever seen…and she radiated positive energy. I have many fond memories of spending time with her when I was younger. My sister, Liza, and I visited her during the summers when she lived in Mississippi. Momaw was also there during those visits and the four of us always had the best time. My favorite experiences with Sister were taking road trips along the Natchez Trace to explore and visit the antebellum homes, churches, parks and whatever else we would stumble upon along the way. Sister would eagerly pack up the car and we were off on our journey…ready for wherever the day would take us. I could tell these adventures made Sister so happy, she was in her element during those trips. We'd stop along the side of the road by a little stream and have lunch...she'd make the most delicious friend chicken for us...such a simple and beautiful time, some of the best memories from my childhood. Another favorite thing she did for us while we visited was movie night. She would make fresh popcorn and Uncle Leonard would get chocolate bars for us...we'd all snuggle up on the couch watching the Sound of Music without a care in the world. She was a happy, free spirit who genuinely wanted to make those around her feel special and loved…and that’s exactly how I felt when we spent time together. I have so many beautiful memories of her that I will always cherish. She was such an incredible woman, will forever be missed and will always be in my heart. Love, Jessica

My aunt sister will be missed dearly. She was an amazing woman and taught me so many things growing up. I remember all the wonderful trips she use to take me on. I spent so many of my summers with her and mawmaw going on day trips and exploring the world. I am so blessed to have gotten to do these things with her in my younger years. I remember this one time i was staying at her house in Mississippi and me her and mawmaw went on a trip to the park we were having a blast. We ate lunch in the park and she fixed a yummy picnic and we were done eating and I was running around bear foot. I ran and stepped in the biggest red ant hill and started crying. She came running after me and scooped me up in her loving arms as fast as she could and wiped all the ants away, even though I am sure she was getting bit herself. She packed me and mawmaw in the car as fast as she could and took me home and made a concoction of warm water and some other things and put my small little legs and feet in it. I felt so very loved in that moment and will never forget it or the many other memories we shared that helped make me the woman i am today.. She was  the most loving, caring, wise and kind woman I knew. I love you sister. Love Little Liza June u will be missed so very much ❤!
