ORONO - Yvonne Mary Conners, 83, died unexpectedly May 12, 2016 while out on a day excursion to the coast to share a lobster roll with her daughter Sandra. She was born July 22, 1932 in Old Town a daughter of Percy Myron and Julia Mary (Ashe) Pinkham. Yvonne enjoyed life with her family and many friends. She enjoyed traveling, especially the many trips to Florida with her sister Donna and Sonny. At times, Yvonne worked three jobs as a single mother to support her five children. She was employed at Diamond International for many years and retired from Bangor Hydro where she worked as a keypunch operator. She will be remembered as a true blonde, never letting her hair go gray or leaving the house without her makeup on. She enjoyed spending time with her seven grandchildren and her four great grandchildren. She was an avid reader and enjoyed board games and was known as the Yahtzee Queen. She enjoyed knitting and crocheting. The last 13 years brought a new chapter to her life when she moved in with her daughter Sandra and her husband Sean, where they provided tremendous care and compassion, and new and special memories were created.She is survived by five children Neil Conners and his wife Lisa, Deborah Cookson and her husband Richard, Michael Conners and his significant other Karen Quirk, Cheryl Hurley and her husband Tom, and Sandra Milligan and her husband Sean; seven grandchildren Scott Cookson and his wife Natalie, Jason Cookson and his friend Nasim Gorji, Christopher Cookson and his wife Jillian, Kathryn Hurley and fiancé Brian VanderMeer, Kelly Hurley, Peter Hurley, John (Jack) Hurley, four great grandchildren Brayden, Sarah, Elliott, and Emma Cookson; 2 sisters Donna Guay and her husband Ralph "Sonny" Guay Jr. and Debbie Smith and her husband Lindsey; and a special little friend Keegan. She was predeceased by her nephew Mark Guay. Friends may call from 9AM Tuesday at the Birmingham Funeral Home 438 Main St Old Town until time of departure to church. A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10AM Tuesday at Parish of the Resurrection, Holy Family Church, Old Town. Burial will be at a later date at Forest Hill Cemetery.
