Milford - The world lost a great man on November 17, 2017. A man of the utmost selflessness and devotion to family and friends. Wilfred Ernest Guy, 80, was born on February 11, 1937, in Brockton, MA, a son of Wilfred Edward and Mary Alma (Baker) Guy.
Bill ran his own business in Hamden, CT, for years before moving to Maine. He worked many jobs during his lifetime, the most important one was working at Old Town Family Practice as a maintenance person then worked as a currier, where he was able to talk to the people he saw every day. Bill liked to tell stories to anyone that would listen, he loved reading and discussing history. He enjoyed his yearly trips to Bar Harbor.
He is survived by his wife, Judy; seven children, Deborah Guy and her friend Gail of NC, Karon (Guy) Dennison and her husband, John, of MA, Bret Guy of NC, Traci (Guy) Difonzo of NC, Gregory Guy and his wife, Kara, of CT, Heather (Guy) Neely and her husband, Charles, of Old Town, and Jason Guy and his wife, Micki, of Milford; ten grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; sister, Francine (Guy) Buron and her husband, Wayne, of MA, brother, Dennis "Biff" Guy and wife, Anne, of AR; several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents, brothers David, John, and Richard Guy; and a special aunt and uncle, Gloria and Richard Frizell.
A celebration of his life will be conducted from 3-7 p.m. Saturday, December 2, 2017, at Birmingham Funeral Home, where a service will be conducted at 7 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Lafayette Family Cancer Center, c/o EMHS Foundation, PO Box 931, Bangor, ME 04402.
