Susan Jean (Essenburg) Burr entered the gates of heaven on May 9, 2021 at the age of 53 after a very courageous and long battle with cancer. Sue leaves behind a loving and caring husband Donald and their two children Mollie and Noah.
Sue volunteered at River of Life Bible Camp for 20 years with her family. She was also camp director for a period of time. Her love for camp was what she was known for. She treasured all the volunteers that served with her and all the campers she met over the years. She enjoyed making campers laugh with her cabin clean up videos. Above all, Sue loved camp for the opportunity to tell everyone about her love for Jesus.
Sue was an active member of Faith Bible Church and served in children’s ministries for many years. She cherished helping with Mother’s Day events, Christmas celebrations, Good News Club, and Breakfast Club. She valued working beside her friend Ella at all church events.
Sue also worked as an Ed Tech at Helen S Dunn School. She loved directing the drama club and organizing the plays. She was thankful for the support from the staff and students with her diagnosis and treatment.
Sue was very thankful for all the love and support from everyone in her life as she battled cancer. The visits, food, and support from each and every person made her days so much brighter.
She leaves behind her husband of 29 years, Donald. Their two children Mollie and Noah. Her mother Brenda Essenburg and mother-in-law Jean Burr. Brother Steve and wife Michelle. Sister Melinda and husband Jim. Along with many beloved nieces and nephews. Sue is predeceased by her father Gary Essenburg, brother Michael and his wife Debbie, and nephew Andrew.
