Augusta – Richard (Rick) W. Poulin 52, loving husband, son and brother, passed away Sunday June 20, 2021 following a brief but courageous battle with COVID-19. He was born in Augusta, Maine, the son of Ronald G. Poulin and the late Beverly Sue (Jones) Poulin.
Richard attended and graduated from Cony High School, where he enjoyed playing many sports. He was employed at Bath Iron Works for more than 30 years, where he gained the nickname “Qtip” by his fellow coworkers, whom he considered family. Everyone that was fortunate enough to know Rick loved him, as he was always cracking jokes or calling you “friend”. Rick will always be remembered for his big heart.
Rick was all about his family, and loved his wife Theresa and their two four legged children, their dogs, Chance and Buggy. He always said that as long as they had each other, nothing else mattered.
Rick is survived by his wife Theresa Poulin, two stepchildren Lauren Michaud of Ellsworth and Tyler Michaud of Alton, as well as his step grandson Easton Whitney, whom he adored. His siblings Mark Poulin and wife Cindy of Sidney, Cory Poulin of Augusta and his little sister Dixie Lee Poulin and special friend Nicole from Hallowell, his niece Felicia Dyer and godchild Tyler Dyer and their children Easton and Olivia of Sidney, as well as his two nephews Connor and Logan Poulin of Augusta, Maine also survive Rick, and many uncles, aunts and cousins.
A gathering in his honor will take place at the Augusta Elks Club 397 Civic Center Drive Augusta, Maine, on Sunday July 11 from 12:00 pm – 5:00 pm.
