OLD TOWN—Paulyne Robertson Mitchell, 100, of The Meadows, Old Town, went to be with her Lord and Saviour, May 9, 2023 where she was greeted upon her arrival by The Saints, her parents, her husband Elbert, Daughter-in-law Cheryl Mitchell; grandsons Michael and Andrew Mitchell, family and friends.
She was born January 8, 1923 in East Orland, Maine daughter of Horace and Emma (Crowder) Robertson.
While at the Meadows she made new friends, reacquainted with members from her church and her high school classmates. She graduated from Old Town High School, Class of 1941 and worked and retired from the University of Maine. Paulyne was a member of the United Baptist church of Old Town for over 80 years. She enjoyed helping pastors and their families in rural small churches of the UBC.
She is survived by two sons William Mitchell and his wife Linda of Auburn, ME, Dwight Mitchell of Hooksett, NH; grandchildren Sean and Lisa Mitchell and their family, Tiffany and Curt Stecher and their family, Joshua Mitchell and his family, Emily Mitchell and her family, Melanie Mitchell and her family, Thomas Mitchell; seven great grandchildren, three great great grandchildren.
Paulyne’s family is grateful for the love and care she received from her niece Lynette Beal while at The Meadows. We are also grateful for the unconditional nurturing care and love provided by Sue Morin, Nancy Schvertt-Paige, and staff at The Meadows along with end of life care received from Hospice with special thanks to Amy.
At her request, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to The Meadows 110 Perkins Ave Old Town.
Service will be conducted 1PM Saturday May 20, 2023 at the United Baptist Church of Old Town where friends may visit from 12 noon until time of service. Burial will be at Lawndale Cemetery, Old Town.
