Greenbush – Marie Theresa Loring, 80, went to be with her Lord on April 4, 2012. She was born in Mooristown, NJ on Dec. 5, 1931, the daughter of Henry J. and Ellen (Casey) Smith.
Marie grew up in New Jersey and moved to the Greenbush area in 1963. She was a proud member of the Faith Tabernacle church on Indian Island. Family was very important to Marie, and she took pride in her nine children. Other than her family, crafts were her world.
Marie is survived by her eight children; Linda McPhee and her husband Charlie of Inwood, WV, Amy Taylor of Hollis, Ellen Moore and her husband George of Martinsburg, WV, Catherine Berry and her husband Benjamin of Lowell, Theresa White and her husband Ralph of Old Town, Jeanie Perkins and her husband Steve of Orono, Trudy Koxarakis and her husband Mike of Old Town, and Tracy Shorey and her husband Jeff of Old Town; 25 grandchildren, Clermont, Wayne, Fred, Kevin, and Kurt McPhee, James, Hiedi, Joseph, and Shane Pellitier, Marie, Margret, and Roger Cannell, Linda, Jere, and Rena Small, Alan Aldridge, Hannah McMan, Amy, Stephen, and Timothy Rediker, Depina, and Antonio Koxarakis, and Trudy, Jeffery, and Sara Shorey; many great grandchildren, several great great grandchildren; brother Henry Smith, Jr., sister Catherine Bacon both of Johnsonburg, NJ, and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Marie is predeceased by her beloved husband, Fred, and her son Alan.
Family and friends are invited to call from 11am-1pm on Saturday, April 7 at Birmingham Funeral Home, 438 Main St., Old Town. A funeral service will be celebrated at 2pm the same day at the New Life Apostolic Church, Bennech Rd., Old Town with Rev. Clara Cote officiating. A light reception for continued fellowship will be held at the church following the service. Interment will be in the spring on Friday, May 11, at 2pm at the Cardville Cemetery in Greenbush.
