Howland and Brewer—Joseph C. Duncan, 72, died September 9, 2011 at a Brewer Nursing facility. He was born September 30, 1938 in Howland a son of William Stafford and Sadie (Carney) Duncan.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and four-wheeling. He will be remembered for his sense of humor, his story telling antics, and being one of the regular’s at the 95er Restaurant in Howland. He was a past member of the Knights of Columbus in Howland. He was employed by Champion international for many years and most recently employed at Hall Security.
He is survived by four children, Kellie Duncan, C. Joseph Duncan, Joann Duncan and her fiance Carl Madden, and Karen Rideout and her husband Steven Rideout; seven grandchildren Daniel, Dwaine, Sara, Tia, Samantha, Stephanie, Rodney and Amanda; Great Grandchildren: Sydney, Lee-Ann, Ayden, Chloe, and Ryleigh; three siblings, Jacqueline Emery, Terry Duncan and Kathy LeBlanc and her husband Michael; nephews Michael Emery, Brett Emery, Clayton Emery, and Matthew LeBlanc; special friends: Jim, Joan, Delmar and Mike along with many others. He was predeceased by his father, William Stafford Duncan, niece Cynthia Emery and nephew Ronald Emery and best friend Bernard Glidden.
The family wishes to extend a heartfelt and special thanks to The Woodlands, Brewer Rehab and Living, Boyd Dialysis Center and all doctors, nurses, and staff for their wonderful and compassionate care.
A graveside service will be conducted 11 AM Friday at the West Enfield Cemetery.
