INDIAN ISLAND - Jean Alice (Archambaud) Moore, 77, died July 8, 2011. She was born May 31, 1934, in Los Angeles, the daughter of Jean Stephen and Mary Alice (Nelson) Archambaud. Jean was raised on Indian Island. She married Harvey E. Moore in 1953 and followed him many places during and after his Air Force career. After 40 years of being gone from "home" she and her husband returned to Indian Island. Jean worked many jobs, including as a psychic reader, which she practiced for more than 30 years appearing on TV, talk radio, and lecturing at high schools and universities. She was interested in politics and was active locally, including Indian Women's Mission Center. She made notable contributions to the preservation of Indian history. She is survived by her husband, Harvey of Indian Island; her daughter, Barbara Jean Moore of Acton; along with several cousins. She was predeceased by her son, John Stephen Moore. A graveside service will be held 1 p.m. Friday, July 15, at New Cemetery, Down Street, Indian Island. Services entrusted to Birmingham Funeral Home.
