Costigan, Milford –Jane Henry Burr Carroll, 84, passed September 26, 2020 at Northern Light Medical Center, surrounded by her loving family. She was born August 10, 1936, the only child to Mary H. Burr Parlin and Donald E. Burr.
Jane grew up in the small town of Costigan, Maine, spending a great deal of her time outside the family store, Burr’s, chatting up everyone who entered. She had a love for people and made friends everywhere she went. She grew up to become a third generation Postmaster of the Costigan Post Office until her retirement. Some of her favorite things were playing the piano; reading; her daschund, Daisy Mae; and her family and friends. To many, she was pure sunshine and could always find a reason to dance.
Jane always made sure her family knew she was there, letting them know “I’m always in your pocket.” No matter how many times her grandchildren took the short walk to the ‘pink house’, she would always ask “Have I told you I loved you yet today?”
Jane is survived by her daughter, Kim Fifer and her partner, Ronnie Rowe; son, Kerry Fifer and wife, Heidi; grandchildren, Raven, Dyani, Mary Ellen, and Luke; great grandchildren, Makayla, Alexis, Kilian, Alyssa, Jayce and Hunter; daughter in law, Adela Fifer, and her children, Daphne and Erik.
In addition to her parents, Jane was predeceased by her beloved husband, Durward "Tarz Carroll and step-son, Richard “Clint” Fifer.
Those who wish to remember Jane in a special way may make gifts in her memory to the Alzheimer’s Association, 383 US Rte. 1, Suite 2 C, Scarborough, ME 04074 or online at www.Alz.org.
