family. Harry was born, September 6, 1933 in Stillwater where he lived all his life, the son of
Harry and Annie (McDougal) Perkins.
He was a graduate of Old Town High School, Class of 1951. He mowed grass at Lawndale Cemetery
with a push mover, was a member of the Volunteer Fire Department of Stillwater,
worked two years at Old Town Canoe, served his country in U.S. Army in Germany 1954 -
1956. He worked 40 years for the Bangor & Aroostook Railroad retiring in 1995.
Harry made many trips through the Stillwater covered bridge. Enjoyed many enjoyable times at
the family camp at West Lake with my family. My kids all have fond memories of West Lake. He
loved his cabin boat that his father and brother, Leo made. He made many trips to West Lake
and Cold Stream with his cabin boat and family. Harry loved his motorcycle. He was a member
of the Stillwater Federated Church.
Harry is survived by his wife, Eleanor Perkins who he was married to for 58 years, three
daughters: Farleen Smith and husband Deane, Valerie Kennedy and husband Bryant, and
Miranda Pierson, 7 grandchildren, Joshua Moore, Jessica Werner, and husband Peter, Zachary
La Fave, Nathan La Fave and wife Joei, Tylar Michaud, Noah Pierson, Johnny Pierson, and 2
great-grandchildren, Austin Moore, Ash Moore and lifelong friends Pat and Royal Henderson.
Predeceased by parents Harry and Annie Perkins, brothers Leo and Fred Perkins and sister
Helen “Louise” Cota.
A graveside service of remembrance will be held at Lawndale Cemetery in June 2021.
