Veazie--Dorothy I. (Bragg) Treworgy, 102, passed away peacefully February 28, 2021, at her home with her loving son and granddaughters (her girls) by her side. She was born April 15, 1918, Stacyville, ME, daughter of R. Allen Bragg and Huldah (Mullis) Bragg.
Dotty was a graduate of Bangor High School and Beal Business School and worked for many years at the University of Maine, Orono. She was a member of Veazie Congregational Church, Past Worthy Matron of Good Cheer, and lifetime member of General Grand Chapter Order of The Eastern Star, Orono. Dotty was presented with The Boston Post Cane by the Town of Veazie in 2016 for being the oldest living citizen, moving to the town in 1942.
Dotty is survived by her son, Richard E. Treworgy and wife Maureen of Brewer, granddaughter Jodie L. Griffith (and Tim) of Westbrook, Jane L. Hewes and husband Mark, of Brewer, Jean L. Weeks and husband Carroll of Guilford. Great grandchildren Benjamin and Isabelle Griffith, Maxwell and Martin Hewes, Ryan his wife Kayla, and Erin Weeks, great-great granddaughter, Madilyn Weeks, step granddaughter Jennifer Seeley and husband, Joe and their children Ashley, Emma, Hannah and Hayden; several nieces, nephews and cousins. She is also survived by very special friend Howard “Dutch” Forsyth of Veazie.
She was predeceased by her husband of 55 years, Everett O. Treworgy, her brother, Harold M. Bragg, and step grandson, Mark Abdellah .
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thanks to the staff of St. Joseph’s Homecare and Hospice, and the Veazie and Orono Police and Fire departments for the daily wellness calls.
Interment at Fairview Cemetery, Veazie in the Spring.
