OLD TOWN—Christopher T. Messier, 58, passed away peacefully in the early morning of Thanksgiving Day after a brief but courageous battle with brain cancer. He was born July 2, 1961 in Bangor a son of Thomas E. and Margaret E. (Trembley) Messier.
A lifelong musician, Chris has had a guitar in his hand since he was 14 years old. Over the years he has played in many bands as the self proclaimed “best bass player in Maine”. Chris had three main loves in is life: his family, music, and the Miami Dolphins. His children were his proudest accomplishment in this life and Chris did all he could to help them through all the challenges they faced and supported them in all their endeavors. He was an avid Miami Dolphins fan, even after the Dan Marino years.
He is survived by three beloved children Whitney, Tom, and Shelby; loving sister Becky Messier, nephew Jason who was like a brother and niece April; special friends John and Fran Sulinski and Ron Cote. He was predeceased by his beloved daughter Shea in 2009, his parents and brother Dick.
The family wishes to acknowledge the wonderful care received at Northern Light Medical Center.
A celebration of life gathering will held Thursday December 5, 2019 from 4:00-7:00 pm at the Birmingham Funeral Home 438 Main St. Old Town. Spring burial will be at Coboro cemetery, Stetson.
