Russell L. Wahl

Wahl, Russell L., 88, of Old Saybrook, passed away on Thursday, May 30, 2024. Born in New Haven, CT on March 21, 1936, son of Russell and Ruby Wahl, Russ grew up in Windsor, CT. An avid car enthusiast and self-made engineer Russ rose through the ranks at Equipment Service to Vice President of Operations. At 84, he retired as Sales Manager from New England Truck Equipment.

Russ proudly served in the United States Naval Construction Battalion (Seabees).

Russ was a boater for many years, enjoying fun evenings at Block Island and journeying around Long Island Sound with Nancy in Somewhere. NASCAR was number one on his watchlist. He was an avid gardener, creatively generating drip lines around the house and back deck to feed a variety of plants.

Russ is survived by his wife of 34 years Nancy, his brothers Robert, Barry and Ronald, and his daughter, Karen.

Calling hours at Swan Funeral Home, 1224 Boston Post Rd., Old Saybrook are Friday, June 14 from 2:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. with a service following from 3:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
