NEWGARDEN, Mark Mark Newgarden, 76, of Old Saybrook, passed away on Thursday (May 27) at Middlesex Hospital surrounded by his loving family. Born in NYC he was the son of the late Dr. and Mrs. Jacob Newgarden. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Elaine Voltz Newgarden; daughters, Kim Cooper and husband Donnie, Kristi Newgarden and husband Ted Drinkuth, Karla Newgarden-Takahara and husband Hisashi; and son, Matthew Newgarden. Also survived by three beloved granddaughter, Alexa and Caryssa Drinkuth, and Una Takahara; two bereaved sisters, Jill Abrams and Jackie Pickard and predeceased by brother Albert Newgarden. Mr. Newgarden's career spanned 45 years in the field of grounds and facilities management, landscaping and site development for many well-known universities, colleges, schools and institutions. He was a member of Professional Grounds Management Society, American Horticultural Society, SPorts Turf Management Association, and Elm Research Institute.
