Jeannette Swain, age 74, of Norwich passed away after a brief illness on the evening of December 22, 2020. She was born in New London to Edith (Tooker) Swain and Eugene Swain, and spent most of her life on the shoreline of Old Saybrook. She was preceded in death by her father Eugene Swain and her sister, Donna (Swain) Ramcke. Jeannette is survived by two children, one grandchild who was her pride and joy, two brothers that live out of state along with many nieces, nephews and cousins. Sadly, she was survived by her mother Edith Swain, who died December 23rd, less than 24 hours after.
Jeannette was a very talented artist who loved photography, painting, making ceramics and pottery, sewing handmade Halloween costumes and doll clothing. She was a wonderful cook and baker and made the best rice pudding ever! One of her most favorite places to visit was Devil’s Hopyard State Park where she would be seen taking photos and birding. She enjoyed painting birdhouses and giving them to her family and friends. She also enjoyed spending time with her great nieces and nephews who will truly miss her loving care. She will be truly missed by her extensive family and friends.
