Dorothy Schwerdel

.Schwerdel- Dorothy Schwerdel, 86 of Old Saybrook died Friday April 2, 2010 at Middlesex Hospital. She was born in Brooklyn NY daughter of the late Leo and Emma (Moore) Daly. She was the widow of Charles Schwerdel. Dorothy was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, and her family was her greatest pleasure. She is survived by her daughter, Carol Manning, her sons, Stephen Schwerdel and his wife Chari, and Robert Schwerdel and his wife Diane. She also leaves her beloved grandchildren, Eileen Perkins, Maureen Manning, Maryellen Manning, Michael Schwerdel, and Kevin Schwerdel, as well as her great grandchildren, Chaz, Megan, Molly, Tommy, and Ava. Besides her husband she was predeceased by her sisters, Marion DeSantis, and Vera Daly, and her brother Leo Daly. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday April 6, 2010 10:am in St. John’s Church Main Street Old Saybrook. Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery Old Saybrook. Visitation will be TODAY Monday April 5, 2010 4-7 p.m. at the Swan Funeral Home 1224 Boston Post Road Old Saybrook.
