Rich is survived by his parents, Deborah Wade, of Old Lyme, Richard Lee Willis, of Westbrook, and his beloved children, Grace, David and Brooke Willis, of Westbrook.
He is also survived by his brothers, Robert Willis (Leslie) of Arizona, their sons, Matthew and Brody, and Wade Willis of Oklahoma, and his daughter, Anissa. As well as his family, Rich is survived by his fiance Stephanie Cox of North Carolina, her daughters, Alyssa and Zoe, as well as many extended family members, including aunts, uncles and cousins.
Rich was born in Groton on February 28, 1970. After graduating from Kennebunk High School, Rich enlisted in the United States Navy, where he served as a sonar technician from 1988-1992, both on the USS Kentucky and USS Miami.
Rich's charismatic and gregarious personality shined throughout his life in a mulitude of sales positions, but the most memorable position he held was as permittee of The Main Street Tavern in Old Saybrook for over for two decades, where many great times were had and lifelong friendships were established.
A celebration of life, with military honors will be held at The American Legion, 80 Essex Rd. Old Saybrook on February 24, 2024, at 2:00 pm.
