Point O Woods Beach and formerly of Kensington, CT passed away unexpectedly on Monday, October 15, 2012 at his residence.
Mr. Kristopik was born on August 29, 1928 in New Britain, CT, the son of Louis and Mary Kristopik.
Mr. Kristopik is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Kathleen, his son, Ken Kristopik of South Lyme, his daughter Sandra Dodge, Son n Law, Brion Dodge and Grandson Gus all of East Lyme and many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by two bothers, Chester Kristopik, Edward Kristopik and three sisters, Stacia Spring, Celia Majewicz and Lucy Plucas.
After serving in Korea and being honorably discharged from the Army on October 15, 1954, he met and later married Kathleen Breininger of Meriden, CT on November 12, 1955.
Mr. Kristopik was a past Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus in Kensington and also a member of the Fourth Degree. Richard and Kathleen owned and operated The Rockland Dairy Ice Cream Bar for over twenty-five years. After selling Rockland Dairy, he then became dispatcher of Dattco Bus Company in New Britain and retired in 1992. Their hobbies together included sailing, cross country skiing, biking and dancing. They enjoyed time with many friends and family members throughout the years. Richard did volunteer works at Christ The King in Old Lyme for several years.
A Procession will assemble at a visiting hour at 9:00 a.m. on Friday, October 19, 2012 at The Folton-Theroux Funeral Home at 13 Beckwith Ln, Old Lyme then a Mass of Christain Burial in Christ The King in Old Lyme.
