Nancy Lee Plyler

Nancy was born on September 7, 1955 in New London the daughter of Lee and Margaret (Grobstein) Halyburton. She married her high school sweetheart, James Plyler, on June 4, 1981; they celebrated 36 years of marriage this year. Nancy worked as an RN for decades, and continued to to care selflessly for others after the end of her career. Nancy is survived by her devoted husband Jim; their two daughters Kathryn and Pamela; her mother Peggy; her two sisters, Kathy Schoyer and Sue Labriola and brother Edward Waido; and her many loving nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Nancy was happiest when she was in or on the water. She loved walks to Griswold Point, sailing to Shelter and Block Island, and spending time in the Keys. But, her favorite thing was being a mother to her two girls.

A Celebration of her life will be held on Wednesday, July 12, 2017 at 6:00pm at Fulton-Theroux Funeral Home, 13 Beckwith Ln., Old Lyme, CT 06371. A Calling Hour will be held one hour prior to the service from 5:00 until 6:00pm in the funeral home.
