He was born on October 3, 1958, in New London, the son of Marion Eggeraat Ewankow of Lyme and the late Emil Ewankow.
Michael spent his days working hard in the local saw mill or relaxing in nature. He was a talented artist who had attended the Lyme Art Academy. He excelled in various media, bringing canvas and clay to life. He will be remembered by those who knew him as being a rugged yet gentle soul who lived his life fully staying true to himself.
In addition to his mother, Michael is survived by his sisters Marlene Ewankow of Norwich, CT, Maxine Ewankow of Orono, ME, and Janine Smith of Greenbush, ME.
He was also predeceased by his brother Jonathan Ewankow.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, June 30th at 11am at Eight Mile River Cemetery, Mount Archer Rd., Lyme.
