Mrs. Clark was born on July 11, 1946 in Cleveland, OH, daughter of Vernon and Dorothy (Champlin) Gray.
She married Roy Clark who she met while studying mathematics at Michigan State University. She graduated in three years including with a minor in computer science and a teaching certificate. They settled in Old Lyme, CT where she worked as a software engineer and team lead for Electric Boat, Shearwater, and retired from Sonalysts in 2007.
Jane was a quiet force who loved her work and the company of family and friends. She enjoyed many adventures with her family, friends, and especially Roy. She treasured family boating vacations and other travels after which she organized (and labeled) the photos to keep the memories. She was proud of the fact that she was able to visit all 50 states (and several foreign countries) before Huntington’s Disease made travel difficult for her. She faced her disease head on, with grace, determination, and perseverance.
Mrs. Clark is survived by her son David (Kristen) Clark, sisters Ann (Deile) Gray and Beth (Merle) Dusek, brother-in-law Herb (Sherry) Clark, sister-in-law Marjorie Smith, Grandchildren Julia and Gabrielle, and many beloved nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her loving husband of 55 years Roy, parents, and brother-in-law Larry Smith.
A Celebration of Mrs. Clark’s Life will be held on Tuesday June 20, 2023 at 11 am at the First Congregational Church of Old Lyme, 2 Ferry Rd., Old Lyme, CT.
