Mrs. Barbara Meyers

She was born in Hartford, CT on September 2, 1925. She was the daughter of Jennie A Woodruff and Waldron C. Beekley.

She graduated from Columbia University with a degree in early childhood education in 1949. She taught for many years at Lyme Consolidated School as a special education teacher until her retirement in 1991.

She was an avid reader and a member of the Lyme Public Library Book Club.

She was predeceased by her husband Robert Fenten Meyers, Sr., her sister Alice Ackerman and her brother Walden C. Beekely, Jr. She is survived by a daughter, Deborah Meyers Capone and her husband Michael Capone of Lyme, CT , her son Robert Fenton Meyers Jr. and his wife Cathleen Rehfeld Meyers of Hood River, Oregon, and two grandsons Michael Capone II of Lyme, CT and Matthew Capone of New Orleans, LA.

Interment will be private and a memorial service and celebration of life will be held at a later date for family and friends at the convenience of the family. Fulton-Theroux Funeral Home, Old Lyme is handling the arrangements.
