William "Bill" E. Jones

William E. (Bill) Jones of Old Hickory, Tennessee died June 26th, 2022 at the age of 90. He was born on June 6, 1932 to Genie and Alma Jones in Red Boiling Springs, Tennessee. Bill earned a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Tennessee and served honorably in the United States Army. He married Phyllis Owen in 1955 and had three children: Jacquelyn, Suzanne and Michael. He worked as a plant manager for Chemrock Corporation and raised registered Polled Herefords.

Remaining to treasure his memory are his wife, Phyllis Owen Jones; daughters Jackie (Steve) Scates, Suzanne (Steven) Wilson; son Michael (Kim) Jones; grandchildren Meghan and Lee Brewington, Philip and Evanne Scates, Jacob Jones, Eli and Jennifer Jones; great-granddaughter Ada Lyn Brewington; siblings Madeline (Hugh) Clark, Ellen (Jack) Gulley, Bobby Jones, and Paul (Josephine) Jones.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Genie and Alma Jones; siblings Betty (Durell) Minchey, Joan (J.T.) Cassitty, Louise Huffines, Kenneth Jones; and grandson Caleb Jones.

There will be a Gathering of Family & Friends Friday, July 1, 2022 at 12:30 p.m. at Hermitage Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life will follow at 2:00 p.m. with Hugh Wayne Clark, officiating. Following the Celebration of Life, Bill will be laid to rest, with military honors, in the Garden of Everlasting Life at Hermitage Memorial Gardens.
