I dont know where to begin.  I dont feel the need to publicly put in writing my love for you and our private moments that we shared, but I WILL take this opportunity to thank you for simply being you. We knew how much we loved each other, thats what matters to me and that is what I continue to carry in my heart.  There has never been anyone affect my life the way your presence in mine has.
The last few moments that we spent together,I will always remember & hold dear.  I know for a fact that you felt loved & cherished in your last few hours with me & that gives me comfort.  
Steve, you left an imprint on my heart & soul that nobody will ever be able to erase.
Ill never forget the 1st time you called me your "ol' lady"..LOL!! Seriously??! I corrected you instantly and you changed it to "my girl" HA! HA!  We laughed & laughed about that. From then on, every time you introduced me someone new, you would proudly say "my girl" Edie.  
We would give each other such a hard time over silly things ( i.e. the Vols vs the Wildcats or the redneck NASCAR races) & we loved aggravating each other LOL!! Gosh, we always had a blast and never argued...which is amazing because we were both so stubborn.
My Steve, I have never felt so loved, cared for and special than when I was with you.  You never failed to make me feel safe and secure.  You were always a gentleman to me & your loving heart blew my mind.  You seemed to always put others before yourself & that is a rare trait.  I cant help but laugh at all the times you would mess up the words to one of my favorite songs just to get under my skin.  All the times we went to our secret place & simply held hands walking & sharing our dreams, catching up on years that we missed together or just holding each other tight because we were so amazed that we found each other again, are all memories that I will forever hold dear to my heart.  Your laugh was contagious & always made me laugh right along with you.  Your charm was powerful, your character was remarkable and your smile was breathtaking.  We had so many dreams and future plans, it rips my heart out to carry on without you. I miss you terribly. 
When we dated 16 yrs ago, we were at different places in our lives but this time....it was our time.  We knew it, we cried about lost years, we felt it and we were enjoying "our time" together.  
Ms Debbie, thank you for your kind words and "enlightening" me on some of your conversations with Steve about me.  You continue to make me feel part of the family and I am eternally grateful. Steve was truly a "Mama's boy" and I admired him for that.  He loved you with all of his heart and was never ashamed to admit it.  Yet again, just another example of his big heart.To know Steve, was to know (without a doubt)how much he loved his family.
Steve, your death has left such a void in my life, it will not ever be filled by anything this Earth has to offer me. Even though life has to go on, no one will ever measure up to My Steve.  I am a better person for knowing you, loving you and being loved by you.  
I continue to talk to you daily & I feel your presence with every breath that I breathe.  You are here with me & I feel you constantly surroundling me with those loving arms. 
You told me just moments before you passed that you would never leave me.....& I know that its true.
My Love.....I miss you, cry over you and have many sleepless nights but I know that God has a plan and a purpose.  I sometimes wonder why? but I never doubt Gods intentions.
You will forever live on in my heart & will have my love until the day we are together again.

People always say that they don't understand. Why God took you, but I understand. I do not accept it, but I'm learning to live without you. Hog where do I start I can start by saying I love you and miss the crap out of you all ready.Me and Steve have been close and I mean close.We lived in the  same neighborhoods together from 11 years old till 18years old and work together from 18years old to 41 years old now that's a life time friend we have done so much together I don't know what good part to put in here cause we have done a lot together..I remember one time when we where kids and it was snowing like crazy outside we left your house and went to mine when we got to my house my parents where gone and we just walked 30 mins in the freezing cold and we where locked out but there was know need to fear Stevie was here you took the glass out of the back door of the planks and cut the top vein in the very top of your hand and I didn't know it you turned around and said Mikey look I cut my hand I turned around and you squirted blood all over me on purpose..(lol) you where bleeding so bad it looked like the glass cut your hand off.You was squirting everything laughing your butt off there I was scared to death not cause your hand cause when my Mom and Dad got home our butts where dead we broke the glass we use to take out the door to get in and you where laughing squirting blood all over the walls all over me just every where It look like we just left war and we lost.(lol) Steve man you would do anything for anybody you where a man with a great soul. I was sitting around the other day trying to figure out who I could get to help me fix my car and you where gone cause you always helped your little buddy know matter what.. Man Hogg Daddy I love you brother and I know I will see you again one day but you where to young brother but if it your time its your time so save me a spot up there and I know you will cause you always helped me do anything I asked you.You where a true friend and there hard to find these days. until we meet again my lost brother tears are rolling down my face as I type all this but I know your in a better place cause you are there with my Dad and he loved some Hogg. Son, Mom wakes up every morning and I talk to you the oil painting the funeral home made us hangs right over the fire place,when I sit down alook at your beauitful eyes looking at me and your beauitful smile it gives me so much comfort. I thought at first it would be so hard to see you,and it did take a few days to look up at you but now I cherrish it hanging there. Every nite before I lay down I talk to you and blow you a kiss,and can't wait to see you and talk to you every morning.  
  Son, mama misses you so so much I Love you from the bottom of my HEART. I know you are right here with me and your Dad, Son knowing you are in GOD,S Hands gives mama so much comfort, GOD has been right here with us all and that is what is getting me through every day. Funny how the good ones go Too soon, but the good Lord knows The reasons why, I guess Sometimes the greater plans kinda hard to understand Right now it don't make sense I can't make it all make sense! I am still in shock! I can't believe its been a month already!!! I miss you so much already!!! We have had a lot of GREAT times!! I love you!!!

Stephen Ray where do I even start??? U have always truly been the love of my life since the 6th grade we have loved eachother. U have always been special to me. U have made me laugh u have made cry u have made me mad as fire and done all 3 pretty well and even done them at the same time. But it would never fail u would NEVER go to bed without tellin me u was sorry and that u loved me with all your heart. I have so many wonderful memories of u and I. We have shared some of the most amazing things together not many couples can say they have traveled the world together but we sure can. The two places we wanted to see the most was California and las Vegas and we had a blast we got to  swim with sharks ;) Pts had a runnin beat that we would come back from Vegas married and we came real close but of course I chickened out on ya. There will ALWAYS been a special place in my heart for ONLY YOU. I miss u so much already

Steve came into my life at a time when I didn't care if I was a lived or die. He gave me a reason to want to live. He would call me and sing to me..off key of course but always made me laugh. Steve I never told you but I loved you. You are missed and will not be forgot. My thoughts and prayers go out to your family and friends today and always.

I feel that I was one of the lucky ones to have the honor to know Stevie. He was always a true gentleman with the kindest heart and the most helpful and loving spirit. He was definitely their for me and my family when their was no one else. It goes without saying how much he will be badly missed by all who had the privilege to know him. Even though his life was cut short, he lived his life to the fullest. A life that was full of love and laughter. We are so sorry for the loss of a son, a brother, a uncle, a cousin and a friend. I am so happy that I can say that he was our friend. I also want to say how honored Charlie Jr. was to be able to be a pallbearer for Stevie. All our love and sympathy to you Debbie and Walt and to the rest of the family as well. We love you Stevie, and thank you for being you.  :)

I've known Steve since elementary school. He was always the life of our group. Always smiling and making others laugh. Though it had been some time since we had seen one another, we all got together recently.  Talking with him, you wouldn't think a day had passed. He was genuine and a real friend. Steve will be missed by so many. To his family and all of those who were blessed to have him in their lives, I pray for you all.

I stayed up with mom all night the night you passed away we cried and cried and I told mom I was sure going to miss my puddin :( I hope u look over us and take care of us. Mom is really havin a hard time with your death so plz hold her hand and help her through this. She loved u very much and we know u loved us too.

Steve and I went to middle school together and he was always smiling and full of life. I will keep your family in my prayers and pray that something awesome will come from this hearbreaking loss. Peace and blessings!

My brotha from another mother....man I still can't believe your gone HOG DADDY we had so many good times together I will remember for the rest of my life...you always knew how to get a smile out of anybody 1 of the best personalities to be around Hog loved him some money all I have to say is got some work we was on it and good at it buddy funny to wasn't a country song came on the radio he didn't knowyou could do just about anything in a timely manner as well and would do just about anything for somebody to help them out...you'll never be forgotten STEVIE RAY and the times I had the pleasure of sharing with you and there's a lot....rip my brotha will meet again 1 day

Stevie was always the nice guy. He knew how to make anyone laugh. He was so kind hearted and would help anyone in need. I love him so much he was the best uncle. He always ate slimjims and I would always steal them when he wasn't home. Stevie was so protective over me and would never stand to see anyone hurt me. I could never frown around him. Even when I was sad I was happy as long as he was beside me. Stevie was a great construction worker and as a little kid I'd go with him to work sometimes. He was also a great mechanic and I wish he could have been one for me too. I love you Stevie forever and always.  Till we meet again... -Jodie

Steve Watkins will forever be known as Uncle Stevie to me. He was always the brightest star in the house. The one that laughed the loudest. The one making the most jokes. Doing anything to get everybody on the same happy page. His love for dogs will never go unnoticed to me. He loved his dog and our dog Rylie with every ounce of his being. He was always hugging me the tightest. He always said the same thing to me and my sisters. "Hey babies" and then he would hug us and kiss our foreheads. His voice was one to be heard from anywhere in the crowd. He will not be apart of our family crowd for a while, but he will be there in our hearts. Feeling our laughter and love just as if he were actually there with us. I will hear him make jokes again. I will hear his laughter again. I will hear his caring voice reach out to me in my time of need. No matter what need it shall be. 

Uncle Stevie is here with me. One day I will be there with him as well. I love you Stevie and all your craziness.

I just can't believe Stevie is gone. When I called his mom he would always answer the phone, he would say, "who's this old lady calling?", then he would laugh. When he wasn't feeling well he would say, " Aunt Addie Mae, pray for me." He had a wonderful spirit a heart full of love. When God called him home, God said, "Don't worry and don't grieve I've got him in my hands! He was a Great nephew and I loved him very much! Aunt Addie Mae

Debbie and Walt, we are so sorry for the loss of Stevie, he was always a special child bringing joy and happiness to everyone he met, ready to lend a helping hand whenever it was needed. I know his heavenly Father is enjoying him coming home. I know God will give you both peace in your hearts till you join him one day. Love you both

Stevie, we little knew that morning that God was going to call your name.  In life we loved you dearly.  It broke our hearts to loose you, you did not go alone. Part of us went with you the day God called you home.  Son, you left us peaceful memories and  your love is still our guide. Though we cannot see you your always at our side.  Our family chain is broken and nothing seems the same without you.  God will call us one by one and the chain will link again. Love you & miss you.

Last night I would never anticipated the horrible call I received.  Just two weeks ago, I went to Nashville for a surprise visit to my Nana , Papa, and my Uncle Stevie.  Everything was fine, like how it`s always been.  But last night, God reveived a new angel.  My uncle Stevie, the handyman, the mechanic, the man who would do anything to help a person in need passed away last night.  Just two nights ago I heard his voice on the phone, I never would have thought that is would be the last time I would hear it.  I will miss you so much and I will always love you. I cannot believe it has been a week already since we said goodbye to you. I don't have the words to tell you all I have thought to print here. I never thanked you for always being there for us. The love you gave to my family- I don't think I fully appreciated and I regret that I didn't see that at the time. You will be missed so much, now and always. Just please look down on us and watch over us still. Know that I loved you like a brother even when I didn't always show it. Rest in Peace.

So sorry to hear what happened he made a lot of people laugh including myself . I will keep his family in my prayers . However I know he's in a better place.

I was so sorry to hear of Stevie's passing. He was one of the crowd of boys at my home nearly every day growing up. It is a very hard thng to lose a child. My prayers go out to you and your family.
