

Shamshudeen "Sham" Hosein, age 77, of Hermitage, Tennessee passed away on Christmas Eve morning, Friday, December 24, 2021. Sham was born on June 1, 1944 in Trinidad, to his parents Ali Hosein and Olive Bissesar Hosein.
Sham emigrated from Trinidad in 1968, and was a building manager and superintendent of residential buildings in New York City for over 47 years. In Nashville, Sham surrounded himself with his family, made friends easily, was a member of Donelson Cumberland Presbyterian Church, and an ardent supporter of homeless outreach through his volunteering with the Nashville Burrito Ministry. Previously, Sham was a Deacon and member of Broadway Presbyterian Church in New York City, a member and award recipient of the Building Managers Association of New York City, and a volunteer at the homeless outreach coalition Broadway Community Incorporated.
Sham is survived by his children Sandy Hosein (54) and his spouse Davieta of Nashville, TN; Randy Hosein (49) and his spouse Tammy of Mt. Juliet, TN; Rachel Hosein (40) and her spouse Evan McAvoy of Portland, Oregon; and Jasmine Hosein (36) of New York, New York. He is also survived by his 4 grandchildren Jonathan Hosein and his spouse Savannah; David Hosein; Timothy Hosein; and Jada Hosein. Sham was one of 13 children, and is survived only by his sister Sherien Hosein, and brother Naz Hosein and his spouse Beverly Jones.
There will be a public visitation for Sham on Tuesday, December 28th, from 11 AM until 12 PM followed by Funeral Services at 12 PM at Donelson Cumberland Presbyterian Church, 2914 Lebanon Pike, Nashville TN 37214. His final resting place will be in Hermitage Memorial Gardens, Old Hickory, TN.
