Ruby Joyce Nowell Merryman passed away February 11, 2020. She was born March 29, 1932 to Willie Mai Nowell and Cody Nowell.
She was baptized at Cool Springs Baptist Church near Ashford, AL.
She was born in Georgia, lived in Ashford, AL until marrying and moving to Nashville. She worked as a manager for Avon Cosmetics. In her retirement she became a Master Gardener, learned calligraphy and loved to travel. On May 27, 1950 she married Jack Merryman her loving husband of 69 years.
In addition to her husband she is survived by her sons David Merryman, and Keith (Judy) Merryman; grandchildren Jeffrey (Shelby) Merryman; sister Shirley Shivers of Webb, AL; brother Raymond (Libby) Nowell, sister in law Patsy Chaney; nieces Judi Anderson, Sandra Voytek, Sybil Burke and many other nieces and nephews.
Gathering of family and friends Saturday February 15th from 10:00am until Noon at Hermitage Funeral Home. Celebration of Life will begin at Noon in the chapel at Hermitage Funeral Home. Burial following Hermitage Memorial Gardens.
