Ruby was born August 20, 1923, to Jesse Rufus and Ella Mae Meredith in Lawrenceburg, TN.
Ruby met Lester Cordell Fuqua of Lafayette, Tennessee, in Rayon City, Tennessee. They married and went on to have four children: Barbara Jean Fouquet, Joyce Fuqua Carter, Sue Ann Kemp, and Ronald Meredith Fuqua.
Following Lester’s death, she married Edward Bryant Anderson of Old Hickory, Tennessee. In addition to being a dedicated and loving mother, Ruby also loved sewing, cooking, and, especially, being with others. Throughout her entire life, she held an unwavering faith in God which she shared with those who surrounded her.
Ruby joins Lester, Ed, and Barbara in Heaven. She is survived by her children and step children Joyce Carter (Dan), Sue Ann Kemp (Dave Kelly), Ron Fuqua (Angie), Russell Anderson and Kathy Hicks as well as an extended group of grandchildren, step grandchildren, great-grandchildren, step great-grandchildren, and great-great and step great-great grandchildren and her brother Bernard Meredith.
There will be a Gathering of Family and Friends Saturday, June 25, 2022 from 11:00am-1:00pm at Hermitage Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life will begin at 1:00pm in the Tulip Grove Room at the funeral home. Hermitage Funeral Home. Following the Celebration of Life, Ruby will be laid to rest in the Garden of Everlasting Life at Hermitage Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations in her name may be made to Old Hickory Church of Christ.
