Dan grew up in Tennessee. After high school graduation, he enlisted in the United States Army and served his duty. Following his military service, he enrolled at Middle Tennessee State University and was voted “Mr. MTSU”. After college graduation, Dan began working in the insurance business and was an insurance broker. He then began working as a bookkeeper at his own accounting firm that he owned with his wife, Lawana Webb.
Dan was an uncomplicated man and enjoyed the simple things of life, yet loved the grandeur of the Smoky Mountains. He stayed active by walking five miles every day. Dan was very generous and kind. He was a family man with a strong love for his wife, his children, his grandchildren, and loved spending time with them. Dan was a Christian, loved Jesus, and enjoyed being a part of Generation Changers Church along with his wife, Lawana. Dan loved well . . . was well-loved . . . and will be greatly missed.
Dan was preceded in death by his father, Roy Webb; his mother, Lela Thompson Webb; and a sister, Tammy Webb. He is survived by his loving wife of twenty years, Lawana; daughters Stacy Webb (Chris Borgman), Claire Webb, Maggie Zuehsow (Michael); son, Zachary Sumner (Kayla); grandchildren, Camryn and Brayden; brother, Randy Webb; sister, Debbie Webb; canine companion, “Bella”, and feline companion, “Tommy”. Dan also leaves behind many extended family members and loving friends.
There will be a Gathering of Family & Friends on Saturday, June 29, from 12:00 PM – 2:00 PM at Hermitage Funeral Home in the Andrew Visitation Room. A Celebration of Dan’s Life will begin at 2:00 PM in the Tulip Grove Chapel of the funeral home. Dan will be laid to rest in the Union Cemetery in NewPort, Tennessee.
