He was born in Monterey, Tennessee, the son of the late Robert Arnold Welch and Ruth Alberta Parker Johnson. Mr. Welch retired from DuPont as a plant operator. He was an avid Vanderbilt fan, and traveled all over taking pictures at their sporting events. He was a wonderful husband and beloved father, grandfather, and great grandfather.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his step-father, Stanley A. Johnson, his soulmate, Patty J. Welch, and his daughter, Kelly Elaine Welch.
He is survived by his son, Robert H. Welch II (Terry); daughter, Stacey W. Binkley (Raymond A.); grandchildren, Christy Wilson, Nicolle Smith, Tyler Binkley and Jonathan Binkley; great grandchildren, Conner Wilson, Emily Wilson, Max Smith, Cody Smith and Lyla Smith; and sisters, Glenda Day (Phillip), Joan Anderson and Paula Withers.
Visitation will be at Hermitage Funeral Home on Wednesday, August 7, 2019 from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm, and on Thursday, August 8, 2019 from 10:00 am until 11:00 am.
The Celebration of Life will be conducted at Hermitage Funeral Home on Thursday, August 8, 2019 at 11:00 am with Dr. Jud Hays officiating.
Interment will follow at Hermitage Memorial Gardens.
Serving as pallbearers are Alan Binkley, Tyler Binkley, Jonathan Binkley, Logan Smith, Matt Wilson, Christy Wilson and Nicolle Smith.
