Edward Namon Pruitt, age 90, passed peacefully into God’s loving arms on November 25, 2023, in his home with his family gathering around him in his final hours. Namon joined his wife, Betty Rhea, whom he had missed greatly since her passing in 2021.
Namon is survived by his children, Tricia (Lee) Cundiff, Barry (Debbie) Pruitt, Jerry (Liz) Pruitt; grandchildren: Chad (Dominika) Lloyd, Amie (Jerry) Pearson, Whitney (Nick) Akin, Joshua Pruitt, Lauren Pruitt; Great-grandchildren: Carson Lloyd, Abby Lloyd, Charlotte Akin; dear friend and sister-in-law, Betsy England; and many blessings of nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Homer Pruitt and Haydena Bush Pruitt, his sister, Barbara Jean Pruitt Chisenhall, and niece Dena Chisenhall.
Namon was born on December 24, 1932 in Clarksville, Tennessee, attended Clarksville High School, and moved to Old Hickory in the early fifties. Namon and Betty Rhea married in 1953 and began their family. Namon was a loving and devoted husband, a blessing and a wonderful example to his children, and the entire family will miss his presence each day.
The family grieves for the loss of their Daddy and Pa and also rejoices that he is now with their mom and family in heaven, surrounded by God’s love, restored and with joy abounding.
A gathering of family and friends will be held on Tuesday November 28, 2023 from 4:00 – 7:00Pm and again Wednesday from 1:00PM until the Celebration of Life service that begins at 2:00PM with Brother Jim Norton officiating. Interment will follow in the Hermitage Memorial Gardens.
