

Mitchell Patrick Mielnik Old Hickory, TN Age 16, passed away June 30, 2015 at 5:12 p.m., following a short illness. Mitchell was loved by everyone who knew him, unless they happened to play on an opposing hockey team at that moment. He was a quiet but fierce young man who lived a life of determination, integrity, and loyalty and love to his family, friends, and teammates. Mitchell was proud to be a member of the Hume-Fogg Magnet High School Class of 2017, where he played hockey for the Hume-Fogg/Page PatriKnight hockey team, and he played as a defenseman for the Nashville Junior Predators. He grew up playing hockey in the Nashville Youth Hockey League at Centennial Sports-Plex, and as a member of the Storm Hockey Club at A-Game.He was a member of Tulip Grove Baptist Church in Old Hickory.
Mitchell is survived by his parents, Mike and Tara Mielnik, and brother Carson of Old Hickory; grand-parents, Phillip and Scarlett Stout of McMinnville, and Jim Mielnik of Citrus Springs, FL; great-grandmother, Mertie Clemons of McMinnville; aunts and uncles, Jonathan and Amy Stout of Murfreesboro, Ron and Susan Gatlin of Cookeville, and Tammy Mielnik of Tampa, FL; cousins, Abby and Anna Gatlin, Brenlee, Walker, and Mattie Stout; special family friends the Atkinson family.
A Memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, July 5, 2015 at Tulip Grove Baptist Church with Bro.Gerald Bontrager officiating. The Hume-Fogg/Page Hockey team and members of the Nashville Junior Predators will serve as Honorary Pallbearers. Visitation with the family will be Friday from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m., Saturday from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m., and 1 hour prior to the service on Sunday all at the church.
