Julie, Lauren and Jacob,
Although, I never had the pleasure of meeting any of you, I feel like I know each of you through Mike as he could not stop talking about his family and how so very proud he was of the adults his kids had grown into.  I had the distinct pleasure to have known and worked with Mike around the country on numerous occasions after first meeting in 2012 as part of the DDACTS projects. But, more importantly, I was fortunate enough to have been able to call him friend. He was someone who helped me and some many other on numerous occasions, both professionally and personally. One of the many conversations we had over the years while traveling was about our families and our daughters’ weddings. I wish that there were some magic words that could be said to ease your grief. Please accept my heartfelt condolences and may you find some peace in knowing how Mike touched me and so many others.

Julie,
I’m sorry we never met but from the pictures online it shows what a loving family you and Mike created.  Judy and I were cousins and spent time together when we were young. Wilma’s mother, Mema, and my dad were brother and sister, and our families were very close. I remember Mike being such a joy as a young child. 
I’m sorry I was unable to attend the service. 
My prayers will be with you, your daughter and son, as you grieve for Mike. May your memories bring you comfort in the days ahead.

Julie, this is Pat and Jim Hibbler. We have sat behind you at the Titans’ games since day 1. We were just devastated by the news of Mike’s passing. We just saw it on News Channel 5. Our hearts are broken for you, Lauren and Jacob. Every good thing I’ve heard about and read about Mike makes me happy and blessed to have known him. Chief Alexander was a great public servant a great help to me while i was serving in the Metro Council it is with great sorrow that he has left this world .
He will be missed by so many that knew him. I find it so hard to belive he is gone .

I have known Mike for a number of years and have attended classes where he taught Data Driven Approaches to Crime and Traffic Safety as well as many planning sessions where the training was developed.  Mike was a senior instructor for us for many years, a good friend, mentor and always had a story to share.  My heart goes out to you and the family and please find joy in the memories of Mike.

I met Mike over 31 years ago just after he was accepted to attend the Police Academy.  He was so excited to be selected and couldn’t wait to start.  He always displayed a true dedication for his profession and all of those who worked with him.  Thank you for your service & Rest In Peace!

Our thoughts and prayers are with the entire family. Jerry served as a deacon with Mike at TGBC. We always thought of him as the quiet, silent type. He was an outstanding person.  We were thankful and blessed to have known him.

It was my pleasure to know Mike, as I was his daughter’s teacher.  He was a dedicated public servant but what impressed me most was he always made time for his family.  He chaperoned many of our school field trips and always enjoyed himself.
Praying peace and comfort for his sweet family during this time.



My memories of Mike. 
He graduated in the Class of 1987 at Donelson Christian Academy and was vice-president of his class. He was also voted by his peers as senior class favorite. He was number 52 on our football team and was awarded  the head knocker award in football. A great guy who was admired by his fellow students and faculty. He is part of a legacy, his grandfather -Joe Patterson-was instrumental in helping build our football field. When young men are 18 you never know how God plans to use them.  No doubt he will be missed. RIP Michael.

Mike is known and loved by so many. He has touched more lives than can be counted. Those who know him best know that he spent years in the hottest sun mowing the yard next  to his. The single new mom of 2 was overwhelmed. Mike was not. Mike drew his strength from God. 
I attended the Mike led Sunday school at Tulip Grove for a while. His most memorable lesson is how power comes from God. You see that is unending. You can’t turn it off. It does not run out.  Mike's power comes from God, his home, support, and earthly love comes from Julie.  Julie has one of those red bat phones on God's desk. I am so happy to be on Julies good side. God goes to prepare my mansion, Mike goes to secure it.

My condolences to the Alexander family. My prayers are with Julie, Lauren, and Jacob during this difficult time. Mike was such a kind man and I have fond memories of him being a great dad when his kids attended DCA. Always supportive and loved his kids more than anything. 

I worked with him on the MNPD.  He will be missed by all.  Always remember that he is just a prayer away anytime you want to talk with him.
