May Ruth Hale Perry Hosale

A longtime resident of Inglewood and Madison, she was born on October 31, 1929, in Liberty, Tennessee, moving to Nashville in 1940. She graduated from Hume Fogg High School in 1947. Beginning in 1949, she was married John C. Perry for 40 years. In 2004, she married William Frank Hosale. Starting her first job when she was 14, May Ruth worked as a secretary at Life and Casualty Insurance and Allis Chambers. She was a patrol mother for Metro Nashville Schools and a longtime office manager for BPI, Inc. After her retirement, worked for the Davidson County Election Commission and the Davidson County Clerk. An avid bowler until she was 90, May Ruth also enjoyed sewing.

May Ruth was preceded in death by her father, Lessie Hale; her mother, Ida Morris Hale; her brothers Sam, James, and Ellis Hale; her sister, Wilma Hale Johnson; half-brother Selmer and Hubert Hale; her first husband, John Perry; and her second husband, William Frank Hosale. She is survived by her sister Linda Joines (Don); sisters-in-law Joan Hale and Virginia Hale; daughters Joy Rhea, Karen Perry, and Sandra Perry (Todd Faircloth); stepsons Ken (Jodi) and Michael Hosale (Cindi); granddaughter, Stephanie Scott; step-grandsons Zachary Hosale and Charlie Hosale; four great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; many nieces, nephews, great-nephews and -nieces, and great-great-nieces and -nephews.

Her funeral will be at Hermitage Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens in Old Hickory, Tennessee, at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, February 9, with Jeff Joines, David Hale, Russell Gannon, Randy Hale, Thurman Harris, Jean Davet, Eddie Hale, Zachary Hosale, and Todd Faircloth as honorary pallbearers. Visitation is on Thursday, February 8, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. and from 12 noon until 1:00 on Friday. Burial will be Saturday, February 10, at 1:00 p.m. at Springhill Cemetery in Nashville, Tennessee.
